The Seed & Yield program was initially created to engage youth in learning how to grow fresh food in their neighborhood, develop job skills, and give back to their community. We run several youth programs, which you can check out below.
- Summer Youth Growing Program: We partner with the ABCD and BCYF SuccessLink programs to employ students over the summer. This program gives BPS students the opportunity to earn money, get job experience, and learn about urban growing! To find out more about this program visit the BCYF and ABCD websites. Both applications are now open; BCYF is due March 31 and ABCD is due June 2. You must first apply to the program through their websites and, if selected, you will be able to apply to our site for placement.
- School-year Youth Growing Program: During the school year we also offer a smaller job program in partnership with ABCD and BCYF. Because this program runs outside the growing season, these students work primarily on the embroidery program, and help with the garden as the season allows. To find out more about this program visit the BCYF and ABCD websites.
- After-school Program: In the spring of 2017 we will begin offering an after-school program for students. More information to come!
- The Food Project Summer Seed Crew: Application due March 13
