Summer Youth Academy
Primarily seeking to keep the youth off the streets and to nurture them with some key life values and morals that would carry our students far in life, this was the very first established NUBIA program. The Academy consists of two major courses, Arabic & Islamic Cultural Values, along with some extracurricular activities.
Over the past years, due to great lack of a permanent location and resources, the program has faced many difficulties. However, due to the continuous demand from a number of youth and families, the program continued and remains active today with the help of amazing members who volunteer their time, effort and more.
Currently, the program curriculum is really designed as a two-month summer program. From there, some of our ambitious students seek extra help and attend the weekly Intro Arabic Courses during the weekends of the school year, which helps them build upon their vocabulary and grammar basics.
Starting Summer of 2012, we hope to have this Summer Youth Academy and the Enrichment for Excellence programs as key components of a recently planned comprehensive summer youth program. Stay tuned!
